How Can God Be All Knowing, All Powerful, and All Loving?
by Barrett Wolf
The God of the Bible is an All Knowing – All Powerful – and All Good/Loving God. Can that God exist?
Consider the suffering in the world.
Why do people suffer so tremendously if God is all-loving and all-good? And a better question is how can an all-loving and all-good God allow such suffering if he is all-powerful? If he is all powerful and could help, he would. Based on the amount of suffering in the world, It doesn’t make sense to believe that there is a God who is both all-good and all-powerful. If he’s all good and loving, then he would do something to help eliminate suffering.
All-knowing and all-powerful God of the Bible? If God is all-knowing, he knows the future. If He knows the future, he is bound to allowing the events of the future unfold as he knows them. If he is bound to these events, he cannot change them by his free will. If he is limited in choices and cannot exercise free will. He is not all-powerful. It doesn’t make sense to believe in a personally interactive God who is all-powerful and all-knowing at the same time.
